Matt studied Classical Piano Performance at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and now works as a professional pianist, organist, tutor, and conductor.

From Matt's teenage years, he knew he wanted to work in Musical Theatre professionally. Starting by working in the local theatres, Matt now enjoys a busy professional career playing for theatre shows across the country and beyond, this year having already played on shows including Miss Saigon, Lion King, Cats, Annie, Pretty Woman, 9 to 5, and The Cherry Orchard (at the RSC in Stratford).

From 2021 to 2024, Matt was the pianist and 3rd conductor for Disney's UK Tour and West End productions of Beauty and the Beast, and Aladdin. Most recently, Matt was the Assistant Musical Director for the international tour of Cats The Musical.

 

Alongside a busy performing schedule, Matt also holds an organist position at Great Witley Church, Worcestershire, and regularly plays at other churches in the area.

Matt is keen to share his enthusiasm for music with others and happily teaches a number of students each week, from complete beginners to advanced students.
